Mining Indaba 2027
Your stand sets the stage.
Your people deliver the performance.
Mining Indaba returns to Cape Town from 8–11 February 2027, bringing together some of the biggest players and decision-makers in the mining industry.
For exhibitors, it’s a significant investment. And naturally, there’s always that question: Will it be worth it?
Measuring return on investment at an exhibition isn’t always straightforward. Not every conversation turns into a sale, and some relationships take months, even years, to show their value.
But there’s one thing we think exhibitors sometimes overlook.
You can have the best-looking stand in the hall, but if you don’t have the right people on it, you’re already on the back foot.
First, ask yourself why you’re exhibiting?
Before discussing stand designs, finishes or furniture, get clear on what you’re actually hoping to achieve.
Are you there to meet existing clients? Build new relationships? Attract investors? Showcase a product or launch something new?
Your answers should influence the way your stand is designed.
If your focus is on short, meaningful conversations, do you really need a large, comfortable lounge that encourages visitors to settle in for an hour?
On the other hand, if you’re hosting important private meetings, a busy open-plan stand with nowhere to talk might not be doing you any favours.
There’s no one-size-fits-all solution. And there shouldn’t be.
Your stand is the stage. Your people deliver the performance.
An exhibition stand creates the environment for your brand to show up. It can attract attention, communicate who you are and provide the right space for meaningful engagement.
But it can’t have the conversations for you.
The people representing your business matter just as much as the space they’re standing in.
Are they knowledgeable? Approachable? Interested in being there? Do they understand what the business wants to achieve at the show?
Sending staff simply because someone needs to man the stand is unlikely to deliver the results you’re hoping for.
A great stand will open the door. Your people still need to walk through it.
Design with intention, not just ambition.
At Ogada, we’ve built both individual exhibition stands and pavilions for Mining Indaba, and one thing remains consistent: every exhibitor has different objectives.
Some need space for serious business conversations. Others need to demonstrate equipment, create brand awareness or accommodate multiple companies within one pavilion.
The right design isn’t necessarily the biggest, most elaborate or most expensive.
It’s the one that supports what you’re there to do.
So, is exhibiting at Mining Indaba worth it?
That’s a question only you can answer. But we’d suggest looking beyond foot traffic and business cards collected.
Did you meet the right people? Have the right conversations? Strengthen relationships? Create opportunities worth following up on?
Those are the things that help turn a few days on an exhibition floor into something valuable long after the doors close.
Planning for Mining Indaba 2027?
At Ogada, we believe good exhibition design starts with understanding what our clients want to achieve, not simply how much space they have to fill.
Whether it’s a single stand or an entire pavilion, we’re here to help you make the most of it.
